The RNS board has voted to approve some changes to competitive play at the U14 level for the upcomming 2012/2013 season. The new model replaces the current U14 A and AA format, and is a result of a committee formed last year. The committee has looked at various jurisdictions across Canada, and came up with a model that proposes three competitve U14 teams based on partnerships with associations (ie DRA and Cole Harbour formulate on team). Atheletes will be single carded (not required to play House and Provincial, just the new competitive team), and the three teams will play against each other during the regular season. The format includes the top team advancing to represent NS at the regional and national levels. Given the athletes will no longer be required to play house as well, there are some effects on House Leaue play; associations will have the option to partner for House Leque play as well. Full details can be found on the RNS websie via the following link:

Final ratification of the model will be conducted at the RNS AGM on May 26, 2012. The Dartmouth Ringette Association is looking for feedback from the membership to help guide how we will vote at the AGM. Written submissions can be submitted to Andrea Temple, President, ea.mom4@gmail.com, or Martin Hurd, Vice President, hurdmj@gmail.com. We will also be conducting a meeting on Thursday, May 10, 2012, 7pm, Neighbours Pub. We will entertain a question/answer, information session, as well as discussion, on the topic. This will be followed by a DRA Board meeting and executive vote on DRA's position on the model.
